Praying for Ike

Reading the news on hurricane Ike lately has freshly reminded me of the Mississippi outreach & disaster relief trip I took with BSU at Campbell after Katrina. Having that experience has forever given me a small glimplse of the powerful impact a hurricane can have on a place and people. It's easy to remove yourself from a situation when it's not occuring in your backyard; this article on WRAL this morning awakened me to the need to think and pray for the families in Texas affected by Ike.
The above picture is of a church hit by Katrina(you can see the steeple in the top left). It is one of my favorite pictures I took while down there, and will always be to me a faithful reminder that the church is more than the four walls of a building, and that it will endure forever.

"Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and marked off the heavens with a span, enclosed the dust of the earth in a measure and weighed the mountains in scales and the hills in a balance?" - Isaiah 40:12
