Mary Kay!

Great news! I am SO excited to have started my own business as an Independent Beauty Consultant with Mary Kay! I've actually had it in the back of my mind for quite some time, and now seems like the perfect time to bring it to fruition. As a stay at home mom, Mary Kay is such a great fit for me because the business model is all about faith first, family second and career third. I'm  so grateful for this opportunity to make a little bit of extra money for my family, connect and network with new women, sharpen my business skills and most importantly, to have fun making women feel beautiful and confident! What girl does'nt love a good pampering session?
I'm already so encouraged by what I've seen in the company so far. There are so many educational resources at my fingertips, and my team leader and director have been great one on one mentors. I'm still trying to conquer the learning curve and feel like I'm in information overload at the moment, but am good and ready for the challenge-ready, set-go! Moreover, I'm really looking forward to exercising the gift of encouragement while bringing out our God given beauty-both inward and outward!

So, here's the big close...if you love Mary Kay products, I'd love to be your consultant! You can shop online with me 24/7 at www.marykay.com/rebeccascott.  I can also do one on one facials and makeovers, customized color consultations and parties galore. Speaking of parties, the hostess rewards are amazing! Whether it be a mother/daughter theme, skin care party, or even a radiant bride themed get-together, Mary Kay has great products for everyone and I'd love to share them with you!

Meal Planning "Friday"

This is the plan, and I'm stickin' to it!

Monday-Chicken fettucine alfredo w/ sister shubert's rolls
Tuesday-Layered Mexican dinner and Spanish rice
Wednesday-Poppy seed chicken casserole with corn
Thursday-Good ole' faithful Macaroni
Friday-Chicken alfredo bake...because I am resolved not to throw away another "half" empty jar of sauce!

These days, meal planning and grocery shopping happen on Friday. I admit some weeks are more productive than others when it comes to planning out dinners, but this week I've found some fresh motivation...maybe it was that $10 off of $50 E-vic special from Harris Teeter!

Every week I eagerly look forward to perusing my favorite coupon match up site "Southern Savers," (which I have no doubt previewed on Wednesday when the stores start up the new deals for the week) and then gleefully collect my coupons. With coupons, grocery list, and arsenal of snacks in hand, me and my little are ready to go!

Today was especially exciting as I took home some great deals, and all for $31!!! Granted, we did make a separate trip the day before and spent $12 on the "buy 2 get 3" pepsi products promo-but all in all a great week for sticking to(and under!) our budget. Knock on wood.

And, because I have no new foodie pictures to present, here's one just as edible...

Happy Birthday to Evan!

On Saturday we celebrated Evan's very first birthday! I can hardly believe my baby boy is 1! We had a wonderful time celebrating with friends and family at his Eric Carle Caterpillar themed party, and the birthday boy was happy to be the center of attention! Unfortunately, the weather outside was blustery to say the least with looming tornado warnings and stormy showers-we missed a few of our good friends but we made the best of it and had a great time nonetheless. Chris and I were so excited to see Evan enjoy his first birthday-his joy is our joy and nothing puts a smile on my face like those sweet dimpled cheeks! Can you believe this kid is one already?!

When Chris and I started talking about what to get Evan for his birthday, I had said I wanted to keep it simple with just a few small gifts since, first grandchild that he is, I knew he would be positively spoiled by our families. And, I was right. :-) Evan made out like a bandit on his first birthday. Like.a.bandit. Between his tickle me Elmo, little people farm, firetruck ball pit, books and baby Einstien DVD's, it was Christmas all over again in our living room. We are so grateful for these fun, precious gifts to our sweet son! A big heart felt thank you to all those who made Evan's first birthday such a special day! :-)
Happy Birthday to my little love, I hope to spend many many more celebrating the gift of your precious life. You bring so much joy to those around you.  I can't wait to see what good and great plans our God has in store for you!

Marbles!

On Saturday we ventured to downtown Raleigh to go the Marbles Kids Museum. It was a great family outing and I'm already planning our next trip. :-) Evan loved every minute of our time there and really enjoyed the exhibits-and so did we! His favorites were the train table, lemonade stand(or maybe it was those sweet girls serving the lemonade), the fishing boat and well, almost everything. Can you say kid heaven?! I can't wait to make another trip when Evan is a bit older so that he can really interact with and understand all the fun things to do, like surfing and ice hockey! Between the dress up stations, life size transportation exhibits(firetrucks, buses & boats galore), pirate ship and veterinarian playhouse, Marbles made an A+ in my book!

Choo Chooo! All aboard for the picture train!
Ahoy Matey!
"I'll take one glass of lemonade please."

Future president?
Surf's up dude!
Family pictures!
Yes, two in one day!
