A Mother's Day Movie-Evan's 1st year

I've been meaning to make a slideshow of Evan's first year, and here it is! It moves me to tears seeing  how big my baby boy has grown up over this last year. The song "hourglass" by Mindy Gledhill is absolutely beautiful and captures these precious moments gone by so well!

Evan, you have filled our lives with joy over joy and we are continually grateful for the gift you are. On this mother's day, I am thankful beyond words to be your mommy. :-)

Lather, Rinse, Repeat

8:30am...
 9:00am

11:30am
 12 noon
Annnd so on...you get the picture. If you think this is bad, just imagine what Evan's room and our kitchen look like! Sound tiring? Yep, it is.

The endless cycle of mess up, pick up, and clean up is a daily struggle and one I'm learning to be thankful for. The sameness of the swiffer and sponge, while not terribly exciting, remind me of what a blessing it is to be able to take care of and provide for the simple, everyday needs of my home and family.
Routine is sometimes and always a big part of the day. I say sometimes because of course there are days when our schedule gets shaken up. In fact, it seems as though we are on the go and around town a ton, whether it be meeting a friend for lunch, going to the park, shopping at the grocery store, going to the gym and so on. But, in spite of all our daytime adventures, there is a routine and it must and shall be followed. Otherwise, the laundry would overtake us and the kitchen might just overflow into the living room!

Today, as I struggle with the motivation to break out the Windex, I'm humbly reminded of Colossians 3:23... "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord."

The weekend run down

On Saturday morning we packed up and headed to Goldsboro for our first Walk MS. My family greeted us there and we had a great time walking for the cause. It was a beautiful day, and fun was had by all-even Piper! I'll let the pictures take it from here...
After the walk, us girls sat down for my very first Mary Kay group facial/consultation. It was so much fun, and a great start for me! My family was the perfect audience to start with-thanks again pretty ladies! Just look at that beautiful bride to be. :-)
We wrapped up the weekend with church followed by a restful Sunday afternoon complete with napping and a trip to Target. After a nice family walk and dinner, we ended the night at our Sunday night care group. All in all, my favorite kind of weekend!

And now that Monday has arrived at our doorstep, it's time for some Spring cleaning!
