Annnd so on...you get the picture. If you think this is bad, just imagine what Evan's room and our kitchen look like! Sound tiring? Yep, it is.The endless cycle of mess up, pick up, and clean up is a daily struggle and one I'm learning to be thankful for. The sameness of the swiffer and sponge, while not terribly exciting, remind me of what a blessing it is to be able to take care of and provide for the simple, everyday needs of my home and family.
Routine is sometimes and always a big part of the day. I say sometimes because of course there are days when our schedule gets shaken up. In fact, it seems as though we are on the go and around town a ton, whether it be meeting a friend for lunch, going to the park, shopping at the grocery store, going to the gym and so on. But, in spite of all our daytime adventures, there is a routine and it must and shall be followed. Otherwise, the laundry would overtake us and the kitchen might just overflow into the living room!
Today, as I struggle with the motivation to break out the Windex, I'm humbly reminded of Colossians 3:23... "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord."

Welcome to real life--your living room will never be the same! Haha. But it's a joy to watch the mess happen and to pick it up-- especially when he starts helping! haha.
